Dunn’s festive beauty look and outfit are complemented by her colorful goddess braids that add an effortless, fun vibe. Gabrielle Union is a cornrow-queen and these pulled-back goddess braids in a low ponytail are no different. These cornrows aren’t as chunky as some goddess braids, but still more so than typical cornrows. The super polished hair parts make it a chic style for every occasion. Goddess braids with loose ends are a beautiful and versatile hairstyle that combines the sleekness of cornrows or large, flat braids with the free-flowing beauty of loose hair.

Big Goddess Braids for A Flirty High Ponytail

Jordyn Woods shows that you don't have to choose between curls and braids, do both. Naeemah Lafond is known as the Queen of Statement Hair for a reason. She's responsible for this "Party in the Back", a.k.a. a single hoop braid topped off with a fro, which guarantees a good hair day.

Alternating Big Braids for Cool Cornrows

Both goddess braid hairstyles and cornrows look stunning in all types of braiding styles. You can wear both in an updo, low bun, ponytail, high bun, pigtails—the possibilities are endless. “The main difference between goddess braids and regular cornrows is the size,” says Foster. It can take as little as 30 minutes or as long as three hours. But the time and effort is worth it as your chunky braids can last up to six weeks. Goddess small box braids are a variation of traditional box braids but are distinguished by their smaller size.

While this style might not be the go-to for formal occasions, it's perfect for parties, festivals, and casual gatherings where a touch of fun and personality is encouraged. Goddess braids adorned with gold thread give off an air of regality and luxury. The gold thread can be wrapped around the braids sparingly for a subtle sparkle or more densely for a bold statement.

But if you want to use heat, be sure to use a heat protectant beforehand. Whether you choose to condition or deep condition your hair, make sure that you detangle your hair during this step. After your hair is free of product buildup, debris, and dust, you’re ready to replenish the moisture lost during the shampoo session. A slicked-back look is always beautiful, and it looks even better at extreme lengths with a few beads at the end.

For those who love a center part to emphasize their facial symmetry, this hairstyle works really well. Changing the size of your goddess braids can change the entire look of the hairstyle. Using smaller goddess braids allows for a daintier look perfect for casual styles without making too bold of a statement. With its large goddess braids and the low bun, this pretty hairstyle looks more complicated than it is to create. Typically, the larger the goddess braids involved, the less time it takes to put the hairstyle together.

Quirky Patterned Crochet Goddess Braids

You don’t want to have to go somewhere with half-braided hair. Your hair is washed, conditioned, moisturized, and stretched, and now it’s time to install your goddess braids. Thick braids twisting and turning around the head is a unique and gorgeous look inspired by Greek mythology.

These goddess braids for women usually start from the scalp and go straight down to complete the pattern. This side bun is perfect for formal events such as weddings and proms! With its intricate look and voluminous design, it may not last long but it will definitely be the highlight of the evening. This is definitely one of the few hairstyles that you will have to go in and have done the day of the big event.

This look begins with the classic goddess braids, which are essentially thicker cornrows that are braided very close to the scalp. Once the braids reach the back of the head, they transition into a fishtail braid. The fishtail aspect adds a touch of elaborate detail to the protective qualities of the goddess braid.

The half-up design allows you to enjoy air flow on warmer days while still protecting your lengths in free-flowing plaits. First of all, let’s start with the basic question – what are goddess braids? Many don’t know how to distinguish them from other types of braids. Goddess braids, which are sometimes called Granny Braids, are a soft, more feminine version of traditional box braids.

Marley braiding hair used in a goddess braid style allows you to achieve a smooth and sleek look. Blending with natural textures, the Marley hair adds length to your braids. The traditional goddess locs installation method starts by first sectioning hair into a few sections and then box braiding the hair. As a general rule, you’ll need anywhere from 5 to 7 packs of synthetic braiding hair. If you want your braids to be extra full (i.e., thick goddess braids) and you have a larger head, err on the higher end of the spectrum. Instead of braiding hair straight down or across, try to angle your braids for a beautiful look.

Blonde goddess braids can be achieved with blonde hair or by incorporating blonde extensions into the braids. The result is a striking, high-contrast look, especially for those with naturally darker hair. The blonde color adds a modern twist to the traditional style and can range from platinum to honey blonde. Before starting with any protective style, you need to make sure your natural hair is well prepared. Remember, some styles like goddess braids can stay for 4 to 6 weeks, so it is crucial to protect and prepare your natural hair so it can grow.

Each braid leads up to the main event, i.e. the burst of curls on top of the head which is preened to perfection. The truth of the matter is that pretty much anyone out there can rock intricate designs with their hair. Using small goddess braids along with some chunkier plaits means that you choose an urban style fit for a queen.

Bring hair forward to accentuate your beautiful neck and showcase some awesome color. This will also bring out your accessories and outfit that you choose to pair this style with. Finish this look off with a bun in lieu of bangs – it’s sweet, sassy and totally modern. A series of different sized braids that all stem out from one point is what makes this style so unique and elegant. They swoop and curve around the head to be finished off with an attractive top-knot bun.

Sporty Pigtail Two Goddess Braids for a Casual Look

All you need is some really good edge control or pomade to style your edges. Frayed, curly ends are such a fun way to finish off goddess braids. Plus, they make for excellent content as shown by beauty and style influencer Aysha Sow in this video. Alternating between goddess braids and small cornrows creates a cool structure to the style. The formula for a larger-than-life fro is starting with goddess braids that stop at the crown of the head. Ah, a throwback of one of my photoshoots with Magic Fingers Studio when I was a beauty assistant at Cosmopolitan.

One Goddess Braid into a Bun

These accents could range from smaller, intricate braids weaved into the larger goddess braids, to the addition of beads, rings, or shells. The side accents can also include hair stitched in different colors or patterns that contrast with the main braids. This style is excellent for personalizing your look and can complement the contours of your face. It's a versatile choice that can be tailored to suit both casual and formal occasions, depending on the type and level of adornment used.

Play around with bold brows and loads of lashes, just Zendaya did. This hairstyle looks simple and sophisticated at the same time. You can wear those braids freely hanging or twist and pin them into a low bun when you want to look more put together. Not only does it have miniature goddess braids following the part, but also the varying braid sizes make a symmetrical scalp pattern. Playing off of the idea of making natural headbands out of your own hair, this style incorporates two separate goddess braids to maintain a hair part through the center.

Goddess Bun

Beauty influencer Arnell Armon stuns in these straight-backs proving there's beauty in simplicity, especially when your edges are laid. Once the ends have been feathered, it’s ready for installation. Most blow dryers come with a “cool” button, and you can stretch your hair just fine with the cool setting.

Perfectly partitioned braids swept up into a classy twisted top knot are a wonderful choice. Ideal for both a casual day and a formal night, this goddess style wraps into a tall bun for the ultimate in beauty and femininity. Pair it with some bold accessories, especially chunky earrings – or go with something a bit more dainty and delicate for a classic dancer vibe. Sometimes, goddess braids look their most regal when sticking close to your head, leaving everyone to closely admire the intricacy. Loose pieces in front of the ears only elevate the romantic feel further. Another one of those cute easy hairstyles, this allows you to channel your inner Disney fan.

If you’re not into wild colors, stick with neutral brunette, red, or blonde hair colors to maintain a genuine and professional look. Changing sizes also adds texture to your hair, making it pop in a positive way. Kerry Washington chose so many chic little details for her long goddess braids that we don’t know which part is our favorite. There’s the tribal braid going straight back and even more braids going down the sides of her head all the way to her waist. She even added charms, including a little gold ring, to add more interest.

You can actually take one of your thick goddess braids and wrap it right around your head to create a headband. Tessa Thompson rocked the hairstyle with ease, with only a few long goddess braids hanging down. This braided hairstyle looks laid-back but glam and will continue to gain popularity as headbands are seen on anyone and everyone. Rihanna did not come to play with this parted goddess braid ponytail. Instead of even cornrows along the crown, her braider created a deep side part and worked the braids back and to the side.

If you have fine-textured natural hair and you want to try out some Goddess plaits, consider an angular pattern with precisely divided sections and part lines. These “home-made” braids are attention-getters that are made even better with the bronze hair cuffs on each tress. Express the fun and frolicking little girl inside you with 2 braids that are set up like pigtails parted in the center. Long, chestnut-tinted Dutch braids are decorated with hair cuffs and crisscrossed gold strings for a simple and neat hairstyle that looks great wherever you go. One of the most beautiful things about ethnic goddess braid hair is the artwork that goes into the various styles. When it comes to a goddess-themed look, parting your hair into a shapely design will bring a whole new dimension to the style.

The braiding hair should be 100% kanekalon hair, which has the perfect texture for braiding. You can choose from many extension hair brands, but X-Pressions brand braiding hair is known to be softer than the rest. Find out for yourself by bleaching your locks and styling them into three French braids. Finish this style off with a low bun in the back created out of the three braids combined and coiled. Here’s a picture of a sectioned style that is pulled together with a singular circle braid. It’s basically a braided bun with a big section of hair above previously braided and twisted around the base of the bun.

It requires precision and can be highlighted with subtle hints of color or glitter to further accentuate the design. This style is perfect for those who want to express their playful side while sporting a protective style that is both functional and gorgeous. Goddess braids with a bow combine the elegance of goddess braids with the playful or feminine accent of a bow.

White House Photos Interior and Exterior

pictures in white house

As both the home and office of the President of the United States, the White House is probably the most widely recognized building in Washington DC. Contrary to a popular myth that the building was painted white to hide scorch marks after the fire in 1814, the residence was first painted white in 1798 to protect the exterior from weather damage. A small East Wing was first added in 1902 as an entrance to the White House. Today’s structure was built in 1942 and sits atop the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. The two-story East Wing houses the office spaces of the first lady and her staff. The central Executive Residence is home to the president’s living spaces and the State Rooms.

The West Wing was added in 1901 and the first Oval Office was created in 1909. The Executive Residence is made up of six stories, the Ground Floor, State Floor, Second Floor, and Third Floor, and a two-story basement. VP Harris wore a sequined black Celine dress with a sheer neckline that was high-wattage and elegant yet subdued. Scarlett Johansson and husband Colin Jost, who hosted the evening, both wore classic Giorgio Armani looks.

It’s on this southern lawn that Marine One, the presidential helicopter, lands when ferrying the president to and from Andrews Air Force Base, and when that happens the area next to the fence is cleared and tourists are shooed across the road to the Ellipse. And when the helicopter lands, it does so in such a way as to block the line of sight from the street, so your chances of catching a glimpse of the president or his family is slim. Instead, Washington and his secretary of state, Thomas Jefferson, decided that the design would be chosen through a national competition. Located at the country’s most well-known address, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington, DC, the White House is America’s most iconic home. The official residence and office of the president of the United States, the White House has been the home of every president since John Adams and the site of some of the most important events in American history. Many first-time visitors to Washington DC are surprised at how small the White House is. As the official home and office of the American president it has a prominent place in American history and popular imagination, especially Hollywood depictions. Somehow one expects it to be larger and grander.

The actress rocks the red carpet in an all-white suit for the 2024 White House Correspondents' Dinner at The Washington Hilton on April 27 in Washington, DC. Chris Pine, Rachel Brosnahan, Questlove and Molly Ringwald are among the Hollywood stars and political figures arriving at the Washington Hilton on Saturday night. Presenting the fashion equivalent of a united front were Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris, making their red carpet debut as a couple in matching Harbison looks, as well as Scarlett Johansson and her husband Colin Jost, in coordinating Giorgio Armani. While Mr. Fetterman may have been in the minority among his political peers, with most of whom following the president’s example and opting for a traditional tux, creative black tie proved a talking point.

Engineers confirmed that the building was at risk of collapse, and Truman and his family relocated to Blair House, the president’s guesthouse located nearby at 1651 Pennsylvania Ave. The White House has undergone many renovations throughout its history, starting with Thomas Jefferson, who, along with architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe, added the East and West Colonnades, which now link the East and West Wings with the Executive Residence. The first major renovation of the White House took place during the War of 1812.

The White House has been home to every president from John Adams to Joe Biden, and it is an enduring symbol of democracy and one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, attracting 500,000 visitors annually. And has been the home of every president except George Washington.

All anyone has to do is read their looks, if not their lips. It makes sense that such an occasion would become more high-profile—and more high-stakes. Judging by the night’s sea of glitzy gowns and sleek tuxedos on the step and repeat, one could have easily mistaken the dinner for a star-studded Hollywood premiere or the upcoming Met Gala—not a political fundraising function.

Lafayette Park, on the northern side of the building, is heavily policed 24 hours a day, as is the closed street on the southern front. Early maps referred to the White House as the “President’s Palace,” but in 1810, the building was officially named “Executive Mansion” in order to avoid any connection to royalty. The residence has also been called “President’s House,” or “President’s Mansion.” In 1901, President Theodore Roosevelt changed the official name to “White House,” a moniker that had been used throughout the 19th century. Beautiful landscaping has graced the White House grounds since the administration of Thomas Jefferson. The South Lawn features over three dozen commemorative trees that date back to the 1870s. During the Kennedy administration, Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon redesigned the White House gardens, including the famed Rose Garden outside the West Wing.

In 1846, President James K. Polk was in office, and his White House had notable differences from the one of 2016. Ghosts of DC points out that the older building did not have the current top floor, as well as the balcony that Harry S. Truman added to the second level. Given that the President-elect’s favorite color, and presumably substance, is gold, the venerable White House could soon undergo its gaudiest redecoration to date. Yet the home of the American president has been a consistent symbol since it was built, maintaining its classically inspired architecture through the War of 1812 fire, massive renovations under Harry S. Truman, and other alterations. An account has already been registered with this email.

Unfortunately, though, the most impressive and distinctive parts of the White House are shielded from visitors. Unless you have very high-placed contacts or are there on official business you won’t get anywhere near the Oval Office or Cabinet Room, let alone the Situation Room or the upstairs residence.

The Oval Office is the President's office and a part of the complex of offices that make up the West Wing of the White House in Washington DC. There are three large south-facing windows behind the President’s desk. The ceiling is adorned with an elaborate molding around the edge that features elements of the Seal of the President. The President decorates the office to suit his personal taste.

Understanding the Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern with Examples by Monsuru Okuniyi

chain of responsibility design pattern

All such events can be handled by multiple handlers and correct handler is found on runtime. Imagine you’re developing a web application that receives incoming HTTP requests, and these requests need to pass through several processing stages before generating a response. These processing stages include authentication, authorization, input validation, and response formatting. Each of these stages is managed by a separate component, and they are organized in a chain.

Structural Design Patterns

Receiver 2 will then check whether it can handle the request or not. If it can handle the request, then it will handle the request and then check whether further processing is needed or not. If further processing is needed, it will send the request to the next receiver (i.e., Receiver 3). It will not pass the request to the next receiver if it doesn’t need further processing. So, the request will come to Receiver 1, and Receiver 1 will check whether it can handle the request. If it can handle the request, then it will handle the request and then check whether further processing is needed for the request or not.

If further processing is needed, it will send the request to the next receiver (i.e., Receiver 2) in the chain of receivers. If the request does not need further processing, it will not pass it to the next receiver. Chain the receiving objects and pass the request along until an object handles it”. The Chain of Responsibility design pattern is a crucial part of many software systems. It passes on the responsibility of modifying objects or adding functionality to a chain of components. While you can find the basics online, we’ll explore advanced concepts and real-world applications.

Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern - Base Classes and Interface

Great post, my only suggestion is to avoid repeat code like in the dispense method, all logic could be in the base class. If you provide setters for a reference field inside the handler classes, you’ll be able to insert, remove or reorder handlers dynamically. After a bit of planning, you realized that these checks must be performed sequentially.

This pattern decouples sender and receiver of a request based on type of request. In the Chain of Responsibility pattern, each handler in the chain has the ability to either handle the request or pass it along to the next handler. This approach effectively decouples the sender of the request from its potential recipients, enabling multiple objects to participate in processing the request without creating complex interdependencies. A mechanism also exists for adding new processing objects to the end of this chain.

The dialog contains Panels, which might contain other panels or simple low-level elements like Buttons and TextFields. I hope that this post post has added some knowledge in your understanding of chain of responsibility pattern. If the logger is currently enabled for the given message level then the given message is forwarded to all the registered output Handler objects. Above chain can be managed using programmatic solutions in java also, but in this tutorial i am using spring for injecting the dependencies and thus forming this chain. Let us understand the Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern with one Receiver Handling the Request with one Real-Time Example.

Creational Design Patterns

The primary receiver can choose to handle the request or pass it on to a secondary receiver in the chain for further processing. The chain of responsibility makes the sender of the request independent from the receiver. The request can be passed to multiple sequential classes that can process or validate data and pass it further to the final handler. In the Chain of Responsibility pattern, if an object in the chain can’t handle the request, it passes the request to the next object.

If no object in the chain can handle the request, it can either be handled by a default handler or result in an error. The pattern doesn’t define any specific error handling mechanism, so it’s up to the developer to decide how to handle such scenarios. Let’s see the example of chain of responsibility pattern in JDK and then we will proceed to implement a real life example of this pattern.

Solution

The Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern is a Behavioral Design Pattern that allows passing requests along a chain of handlers. Instead of sending a request directly to a specific receiver, a chain of potential receivers is formed, and each handler either processes the request or passes it to the next handler in the chain. This pattern allows multiple objects to handle the request without coupling the sender class to the concrete classes of the receivers. Chain of responsibility Pattern or Chain of Responsibility Method is a behavioral pattern, which allows an object to send a request to other objects without knowing who is going to handle it. This pattern is frequently used in the chain of multiple objects, where each object either handles the request or passes it on to the next object in the chain if it is unable to handle that request.

Here, you can have more than one catch block, and the catch blocks will behave like handlers to handle the exception. So, the point that you need to remember is once any handler handles the request, it should not forward that request to the next handler. Let’s see the step-by-step procedure to implement the above example using the Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern in C#. So, what the developer will do is he will send a request for 25 days’ leave to the Team Leader.

Once the request is handled, it completes it’s journey through the chain. Design patterns are not difficult to learn, but mastering them takes time. Knowledge on design patterns is necessary when you want to grow as a professional developer and build better software. If CoR receives the same type of request often, a caching system is useful for improving speed.

The request can take the form of a standard function call to the recipient without any parameters, or it can be encapsulated within an object containing all the necessary data. In essence, it allows an object to dispatch commands to other objects without prior knowledge of which object will handle the request upon receiving it. Think of it as a leader delegating tasks, where the leader’s sole responsibility is task assignment, and they remain unaware of who exactly will execute these tasks. This approach promotes efficient task distribution and execution throughout the system. Exception Handling in C# is one of the best examples of the Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern. When an exception is thrown from the try block, then that exception might be handled by a corresponding catch block.

Similarly, supervisor will try to solve the issue and if he is able to then he will solve; else pass to manager. This request can be handled at front desk level, supervisor level or any higher level. Correct handler of request is only known at runtime when request is traversing at various levels. Extra handlers can be added or removed from chain without modifying the logic inside any of concrete handler. The sender is responsible for initiating requests, while the recipient is composed of a series of one or more objects. Each of these objects has the authority to decide whether to directly respond to the request or delegate it to the next object in the chain.

The example above minimizes the methods inside the Concrete Handler (increasing the cohesion) despite the constraint on a not null response. In this article, we’ll explain and demonstrate the Chain of Responsibility pattern. Indeed, this represents the contract of the Filter interface within the javax.servletpackage. A simple component can show brief contextual tooltips, as long as the component has some help text assigned. But more complex components define their own way of showing contextual help, such as showing an excerpt from the manual or opening a page in a browser.

A Beginner’s Guide To Building Flexible Code With the Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern in JavaScript

This pattern encourages loose coupling between sender and receiver, providing freedom in how the request is handled. Unlike other behavioral design patterns, the Chain of Responsibility pattern creates a linear sequence or a chain of receiver objects for a request. Each receiver in the chain either handles the request or passes it to the next receiver. The primary advantage of using the Chain of Responsibility design pattern is that it decouples the sender and receiver of a request. This means that the sender doesn’t need to know the details of who handles the request, or how it’s handled.

Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern - Base Classes and Interface

chain of responsibility design pattern

First, create a class file named TeamLeader.cs and copy and paste the following code. As you can see here, first, we created one variable, i.e., MAX_LEAVES_CAN_APPROVE, to hold the maximum leave value the Team Leader can approve. This class implements the EmployeeLeaveHandler abstract class and provides the implementation for the ApplyLeave() method. As part of the ApplyLeave method, we check whether the Team Leader can approve the number of leaves the employee applies.

The Chain of Responsibility pattern is commonly used in software systems where multiple objects may handle a request, but the exact handler isn’t known at compile time. This is a strict definition of the Responsibility concept in the GoF book. However, many implementations (such as loggers below, or UI event handling, or servlet filters in Java, etc.) allow several elements in the chain to take responsibility. Like many other behavioral design patterns, the Chain of Responsibility relies on transforming particular behaviors into stand-alone objects called handlers. In our case, each check should be extracted to its own class with a single method that performs the check. The request, along with its data, is passed to this method as an argument.

Benefits and Advantages Of Chain Of Responsibility Pattern In JavaScript

We know that we can have multiple catch blocks in a try-catch block code. Here every catch block is kind of a processor to process that particular exception. So when any exception occurs in the try block, its send to the first catch block to process. If the catch block is not able to process it, it forwards the request to next object in chain i.e next catch block. If even the last catch block is not able to process it, the exception is thrown outside of the chain to the calling program.

This class inherits from the Handler abstract class and implements the abstract DispatchNote method. Yes, the order of handlers in the Chain of Responsibility pattern can be changed dynamically. This is one of the pattern’s strengths, as it provides flexibility in how requests are handled. By changing the order of handlers, you can prioritize certain types of requests, add new handlers, or remove existing ones without affecting the rest of the chain. If improperly implemented, the Chain of Responsibility pattern can lead to infinite loops. This can happen if a request is passed along the chain without any handler being able to process it, and the chain is structured in such a way that the request cycles back to the start.

Key Components

The first thing you hear is the robotic voice of the autoresponder. It suggests nine popular solutions to various problems, none of which are relevant to your case. You’ve just bought and installed a new piece of hardware on your computer.

If the processor is not able to process anything, it just forwards the same request to the next chain. Each linked handler has a field for storing a reference to the next handler in the chain. In addition to processing a request, handlers pass the request further along the chain. The request travels along the chain until all handlers have had a chance to process it. ➡ One of the behavioral design patterns.➡ Its main goal is to decouple the behavior of an object from its state by modeling the behavior into an abst... In chain of responsibility, sender sends a request to a chain of objects.

Please look at the following diagram, which shows the reporting hierarchy in a software organization. The Team Leader reports to the Project Leader, and the Project Leader reports to HR. The Project Leader can approve leave for a maximum of 20 Days, and the HR can approve leave for 30 Days. First, as part of the DispatchNote() method, we calculate the number of 2000 notes to be dispatched.

But when it comes to the HR and Manager level, they will check the reason for requesting a leave. If an employee request up to 21 days, the HR will handle that and if its more than 21 days, the Manager will handle that. When they are handling the request, they will check if the reason is a regular, critical, or special one. The pattern lets you link several handlers into one chain and, upon receiving a request, “ask” each handler whether it can process it.

This current implementation necessitates passing the Request object through all the filters. However, what if we want to halt the propagation through the filter chain when a specific condition is met? A common example is during a web request, where we don’t want to continue processing if authentication fails.

Each stage has a specific responsibility, and the order in which these stages are executed is crucial. This is precisely where the Chain of Responsibility Design Pattern comes into play. I will pass various level of support requests down the chain and they will be handled by correct level. Chain of Responsibility allows a number of classes to attempt to handle a request, independently of any other object along the chain.

Suppose we have to handle authentication requests with a chain of handlers. Depending on the type of authentication request, the appropriate handler in the chain handles it, or it is passed along the chain until a handler can process it or until the end of the chain is reached. These will be classes, and they should implement the EmployeeLeaveHandler abstract class and need to provide implementations for the ApplyLeave method.

At Elements, you'll be treated to a magical experience of dance and music, inspired by the four elements — earth, air, water, and fire. Country music fans won't want to miss Blazing Boots, the best country bar at sea. Sing along to all your favorite songs, from singers like Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, and more. The vessel was launched as "SuperStar Leo" for Star Cruises (Asian brand owned by GHK-Genting Hong Kong).

Cruises

Norwegian Spirit is well thought-out and easily navigable, and on our sailing we never found crowding even in areas where you'd expect a lot of traffic. This may be because there are fewer kids onboard and the former kids' spaces are turned over to adults-only areas post-refurb. When you want some "me" time, look no further than Mandara Spa®.

Balcony staterooms aren’t that much larger, but they do come with big, floor-to-ceiling glass doors all along one side of your cabin, allowing for uninterrupted views of the water. Step outside and you’ll find a furnished deck space for private viewing and taking in the sea breeze. Most recently, Norwegian gave Norwegian Spirit a massive overhaul, in 2020. The 43-day dry dock cost $100 million and remade the ship with half a dozen new restaurants, seven new bars, new staterooms, new hull art and better common spaces. Cabins make up the majority of the space from Decks 11 to 8 (you'll also find rooms on decks 5 & 6), where you start to hit the main dining, drinking and entertainment venues, which continue on Deck 7.

There’s also a kid-friendly aft pool with a children’s water park. For the ultimate in relaxation during your trip, make sure to check out the ship’s spa. You can book a thermal suite pass for heat and water therapy with ocean views, or you can book specific treatments ranging from seaweed massages to facials to manicures and hair removal.

When it comes to the entertainment on Norwegian Spirit, there’s never a dull moment. Tickle your funny bone during our comedy variety show inside the Stardust Theatre. Or don your best white attire and dance the night away during our White Hot Party. Enrich your cruise vacation with up to 6 Free Offers with Norwegian's Free At Sea promotion. Choose from Free Unlimited Open Bar, Free Specialty Dining, Free Airfare for 2nd Guest, Free Shore Excursions, Free WiFi and Free 3rd & 4th Guests. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices.

Norwegian Spirit remained a Norwegian ship and became the line’s first Leo-class cruise ship. Unfortunately, Norwegian Spirit is the only Leo-class ship still in existence. There are 14 restaurants onboard Norwegian Spirit, including two new ones -- the upmarket Italian Onda by Scarpetta; and a newly-installed smaller main dining room, Taste. There are 1,016 rooms in total (eight were added in the refurb) and just four types -- suites, balcony, oceanview and inside -- ranged across six floors. There is no Haven, the ship-within-a-ship suite complex on NCL's bigger ships, nor single-occupancy studio cabins.

The ship underwent a major refurbishment in 2020 from bow to stern, keeping the adult cruiser in mind. Every stateroom has been updated and every lounge and bar redesigned. When it comes to itineraries, Norwegian Spirit is headed to some fantastic destinations and ports all around the world, including French Polynesia, Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand. Norwegian Spirit has two main dining rooms, the Garden Room and Windows, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Windows is the more elegant of the two, located aft with Palladian-style windows overlooking the stern's wake. The venue is downright romantic, featuring classic ocean liner decor with dark woods and cushy chairs.
